Hi Friend,

Today we celebrate Veterans Day and every Veteran who has sacrificed for our country and world. We would also like to thank the so many Veterans who support our Great Debaters as volunteers, as judges, as coaches, as teachers, and as donors. It is only because of such incredible service that our city has a debate league that serves all schools and all students. Indeed, on Saturday we hosted NYC Middle School Tournament #2 with 539 debaters, 45 schools, and 189 volunteers! 2 tournament locations! 5 divisions of debate! 3 debate events! 11 Debate Topics including: prisoners right to vote, standardized testing, nature versus nurture, Open Borders, Colony on the Moon, Tax on Meat Sales, Social Media, Physical Activity, Video Games and Single Gender Schools.... Wow!!!! Thank you all for attending! Thank you to our host schools - Hunters Point Community Middle School and Junior High School 278 Marine Park. And thank you all for dedicating your day to debate - 189 volunteers, coaches, parents, judges, and staff dedicated their weekend to support 539 debaters in public speaking, reading, writing, debating, notetaking, research, current events, civics  - and every other academic skill and subject. Thank You. Sincerely, Erik, erik@debate.nyc
